In this class we walk you through the rate making process from A – Z, using MRWA’s Microsoft Excel Based Program, teaching and coaching you on the rate making process and the development of accurate water or sewage rates.

Your rate evaluation includes

Equipment Replacement Account

Capital Improvement Plan (CIP)

New – Detailed Five-Year Budget and Rate Projection requested by EGLE

Water System asset management / inventory template

A lead service line inventory template, that can be incorporated into your CIP

After attending this class, you can re-evaluate, and update, your rates every year hereafter on your own.

Need help after the class, just contact one of MRWA’s staff member for free assistance. 

Here is how the class works: Prior to class we email you a list of information you will bring with you to the class. Using your own laptop or one of the provided computers you will enter your data into our Microsoft Excel based program.  Depending on your rate structure, and the accuracy or your data, it is possible to go home with a completed rate evaluation!  Lastly and Most Importantly we will give you the ability to educate your council members on the rate making process and the importance of maintaining and updating your water rates

Payment/Cancellation Policy: Payment is expected prior to class. Cancellations must be requested at least 3 business days prior to the start of the class or your registration fee will be forfeited. If you cancel least 3 business days prior to the start of class, the full amount may be used as credit toward a future class. You may send a substitute attendee.
